What is new about EPAK-TV?
The satellite TV system EPAK-TV is easy to install, because you only need two cables (power supply and signal cable). The user can store up to four satellites, and can update the stored data at any time by himself.
Furthermore EPAK-TV has a very good tracking performance, because a technology is used, which was used by the military before.

What is important during the installation?
Please choose a stable place, which has a free sight to the satellite and which is not near to RADAR and communication antennas.
The antenna can be connected to every power distribution with 12/24/32 volts without any converter. The power circuit has to be fused with at least 5 amperes and at maximum 7 amperes. Furthermore a potential equalization has to be done.

How the antenna is operated?
The user interacts with this antenna via the control unit. It is also possible to switch on/off and to change the satellite via the receiver. The following menu items are available:

• Standby (Switch on/off)
• Autosat (satellite 1 to 4 is chosen by the receiver)
• Sat 1 (selection of satellite 1)
• Sat 2 (selection of satellite 2)
• Sat 3 (selection of satellite 3)
• Sat 4 (selection of satellite 4)
• Setup (Setup menu)
  • Tracking (tracking can be switched off, e.g. in the harbour to limit the antenna noise)
  • Fastscan (advanced search algorithm, default off, because not necessary in Europe)
  • LNB type (selection of linear or circular LNB)
  • New Sat (search for new satellite)
  • Upd Sat (update satellite data)
  • Del Sat (delete datellite data)
  • Comp Cal (calibrates internal compas)

What is DiSEqC™?
DiSEqC™ stands for "Digital Satellite Equipment Control".

Normally there are used two voltages (14/18V) for switching Vertical/Horizontal, and 22 kHz on/off for switching Low/High-Band.
In DiSEqC™-mode the 22kHz is used to transmit data packets, which can carry additional data. It is distinguished between DiSEqC™ 1.0 and DiSEqC™ 2.0, the latter can be used for two-way communication between receiver and multiswitch.

Why already stored satellites will not be found after a certain time?

There are four possible reasons for this:

• Superstructures or something else obstruct the sight to the satellite.
• You changed your geographical position so much, that the satellite data is not correct any more.
• You left the coverage area of the satellite.
• There were severe changes on the satellite regarding the transponder assignment.

Delete the satellite with DEL SAT and start a new search with NEW SAT. Please refer to the manual!

Why the search for already stored satellites takes so long?

Probably your geographical position has changed so much between your last save/update, that the settings of the actual satellite are not correct any more. Please use the the function UPD SAT that the new settings can be stored.
Please keep in mind: This has only be done in the harbor! Please refer to the manual!

Can I use the antenna also in the harbor?
Yes, of course. But you have the possibility to change into the Harbormode. In this case the tracking will be switched off and the noise of the antenna is very much reduced. To do so, go to the SETUP-Menu and switch the menuitem TRACKING to OFF. Please consider, that motions of the boat are not compensated and it is possible that the picture on the screen sometimes deteriorates. To switch on the tracking again, switch TRACKING back to ON.
